Blizzard Entertainment currently is extremely busy; it has two non-MMO games currenty under development (StarCraft II and Diablo III) along with a new next-generation massively multiplayer game. It's likely that a third World of Warcraft expansion is in the works as well. That makes four major game projects at various points of development.
But is there a fifth game underway? Fan site Blizzplanet seems to think so. The basis for their conjecture is the appearance of two Blizzard job openings for an "unannounced" game. One of the openings is for a client software engineer and the listing does state, "This is your chance to get in on the ground floor of a dynamic and focused team working on a brand new project." The article has what they claim is a quote from an unnamed Blizzard rep which seems to confirm that they are indeed hiring for an all new game project. However, Blizzard would not comment to Big Download when we asked for a confirmation, with a PR rep telling us, " . . . beyond the information listed in the postings themselves, we can't comment on unannounced projects."

Uh, that just looks like it's for the un-revealed MMO (un-revealed not unannounced).
What makes them think it's for a different game?Posted at 8:59PM on Mar 26th 2009 by Ihavepants
