Gametap users who have been awaiting the revamp and relaunch of the gaming download service will have to wait a little longer. The relaunch was due to happen this week but the service's official blog site is now saying the "big, internal migration is taking a little longer than we had planned." While there's no specifics on when the revamp will go live the new hardware should be in place in "a couple more days."
Because of the delay there will be no new games added to the Gametap library this week. That includes the previously planned new episode of American McGee's Grimm. However the previous free game special Just Cause will remain free to play for another week.

Cool that they're extending the free deal. I'm just glad they're taking time to make it right. This is a huge move for them.Posted at 7:38PM on Mar 26th 2009 by Sokkratez
