One of the smaller PC game publishers has now shut down its operations. That company is Lighthouse Interactive, perhaps best known for publishing the space strategy game Sword of the Stars and its two expansion packs for developer Kerberos Productions. The European based Lighthouse Interactive was bought in the spring of 2008 by the Canadian based company Silverbirch in a deal that at the time was worth $4 million. However Silverbirch went under earlier this year and apparently Lighthouse Interactive could not continue without the support of the parent company. The publisher's official web site is still online for now. One of the games that was to be published by Lighthouse, East India Company, has already found a new home at Paradox Interactive.
