Battlestations Pacific gets final release date

WWII game fans always have a number of new titles to pick from every year. One of the games slated for release in 2009 now has an official release date. Battlestations Pacific, the action-strategy combo title developed and published by Eidos, will ship to stores on May 12. Europeans and Australians get the same privilege on May 15.

The sequel to the 2007 released Battlestations Midway, the new game expands on the originals by adding a Japanese campaign alongside the US single player missions. In fact the Japanese single player experience qualifies as a alternate history since you have to lead their forces to victory. The game has a total of over 100 sea, air and undersea units and will also contain a number of online multiplayer modes. The PC version is a Games For Windows Live title which means players can expect support for things like achievements in the game.
