Some StarCraft II fans upset about voice actor changes . . but does it matter?

Do you know who the two people pictured above this news post are? We are willing to bet that over 90 percent of our readers will say, "No" (and that half of our readers think the women on the right is hot). For those folks we can report that those two people are Robert Clotworthy and Glynnis Talken, voice actors who handled the roles of Jim Raynor and Sarah Kerigan in the original StarCraft RTS game from Blizzard.

Now the fan web site Starcraftinfowire.net is reporting that supposedly "thousands" of StarCraft fans are upset that those two actors will not be reprising those roles for the upcoming sequel StarCraft 2. The usual fan boy activities of online petitions, forum posts and more have been screaming to get these two actors back for their parts (indeed, Talken did in fact return to handle one line for the Sarah Kerigan role in a StarCraft II cinematic that was first shown at BlizzCon last year).

However we are going to go way out on a limb and make a prediction that it will not matter in the slightest. Blizzard is likely far more interested in making the actual game be as good as it can be. We think they are not worried about what we believe is a very small but vocal section of the StarCraft fan base that believes voice casting for CGI cut-scenes is more important than anything else in StarCraft II.
