Ubisoft and developer Techland gave us a surprise earlier this year when they announced Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, the second game in the Wild West themed shooter series. Today the publisher issued the first public screenshots from the game and gave out some additional details on the game itself. They also announced a vague "summer 2009" release date and launched a teaser site.
The game itself will allow folks to play as either of the McCall brothers, Ray or Thomas. Each character has their own play style (for example one likes long range shooting, the other likes close combat) and by working together the brothers can do a lot of damage to enemies using "various revolvers to heavy-caliber cannons and machine guns." The brothers have to deal with a number of enemies such as "renegade Apache Chief, a greedy Mexican bandit, a vindictive Colonel." Look for the brothers to use horses, canoes and wagons to get around in the various locations.
Multiplayer options include standard deathmatch and various unnamed team modes. The game will also have some kind of Bounty system that will put a big target on players who rack up more kills. If a player kills another with a large Bounty that player gets a bigger reward.
