Hearts of Iron III programmer: 'PC games still sell insane amounts'
We have seen a lot of former PC only dev companies start to make titles for consoles as well in the past decade but at least one publisher seems very happy with making PC games exclusively. That would be Paradox Interactive, the developers and publishers of such niche titles like the forthcoming WWII strategy title Hearts of Iron III.
In fact, Strategy Informer reports that the lead programmer of that game, Johan Andersson, claims that their PC titles are selling just fine, thank you very much. So much so that porting Hearts of Iron III isn't in the cards. Andersson states, "It's been fifteen years since I last made a console game so I don't know exactly what the hardware limitations would be. I haven't thought about it, but I don't know. PC games still sell insane amounts and considering how much online distribution is increasing sales; it's easier to continue making PC games."
