F.E.A.R. 2 goes gold

It's time to get scared once again at a creepy 8 year old girl. Warner Bros. Interactive has announced today that Monolith's FPS sequel F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin has now "gone gold" and will ship to stores for the PC and other platforms on February 10 as previously announced.

This game started life simply as Project Origin as Vivendi Games kept Monolith from using the F.E.A.R. name for the sequel. Vivendi released two PC expansions to the original 2005 F.E.A.R. (developed by Timegate Studios) which Monolith now considered to take place in an "alternate universe". The merger of Vivendi and Activision to form Activision Blizzard apparently got the powers that be to agree to give Warner Bros. Interactive the F.E.A.R. name rights. But will the sequel be as good and scary as the original?
