Is Star Wars: The Old Republic further along than we think? Maybe. How else do you explain the constant stream of new screenshots from the upcoming MMO on the game's official web site. Today developer BioWare posted up five new shots of the game in action which we have reproduced and added to our gallery.
The new visuals all have at least some kind of character in the foreground doing something (earlier shots were static environmental visuals) including a shot of a Jedi going up against an Acklay. That's the giant bug-like creature that was one of the three monsters in the Geonosis arena in Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones. BioWare and publishers EA and LucasArts have yet to announce a release date for the game.

I agree, I really hope that it's free to play, like Guild Wars, microtransaction will be fine too though. But I hope it's the you buy the game for $50 and then you own it, not you have to throw another $15 on top of that every month you want to play.Posted at 7:12PM on Jan 23rd 2009 by Alex

Is that a bounty hunter I see? She isn't doing her job real well then....
Looks like they've refined the look more, which I think it looks better than the previous stuff. Sadly, unless its free to play microtransaction stuff, I probably wont be playing. Wallet can't handle subscription stuff right now. Except if there is a Mandalorian feud, then I'll make an exception.Posted at 5:46PM on Jan 23rd 2009 by sicsided
