Want to win a chance to beta test the upcoming Cryptic Studios MMO Star Trek Online? Well, the developers are currently running a contest on the game's official web site for a chance to do just that. And it all begins with that image you see above this news post.

Cryptic is asking folks to take a look at that alien world and imagine what life might be like on such a planet. To enter the contest, folks submit a quick story (no more that 500 words) about live on that planet. Contest entries must be turned in by Jan. 29. They will be judged and the winner will have a guaranteed beta testing slot for the game itself.
