It's been a while since there's been any real news on the Battlefield Heroes front. The upcoming downloadable multiplayer shooter from Digital Illusions and Electronic Arts had been in a closed beta for much of 2008 but near the end of the year the developers announced they were closing the beta test down to work more on the game's back end.
While there's still no word yet on when the beta test will resume (much less a final release date) the Battlefield Heroes web site is showing signs of new life lately, including a new post on how they are making the maps that will be put into the game. Map making for the game depends on several factors (Do we make the map with vehicles? How do we make the landscape natural?). before the final product is done. Of course the question we want answered is, "When can we play the game that the map is made for?" So far there's been no answer to that inquiry.
