EA snags distribution rights to Wheel of Time games
As we reported previously Red Eagle plans to work with Universal Pictures to release a Wheel of Time movie and game tie-ins will be part of that package. Also a Wheel of Time MMO title is in the works as well. So far no developers have been announced for either the movie-based game or the MMO.

I love the books. I'm excited to see what they do with them but I have a feeling that I will be sorely disappointed. The only movies based on books that I liked as much as the books or more so are the Lord of the Rings movies.
I also really enjoyed the Sword of Truth books. A TV series was made off the first book of that. It was an absolute chore to watch the full first episode, absolutely horrible show.
Also sounds like they will be doing a show based on the A Song of Ice and Fire books which I also really like. Looking forward to being disappointed by that show too.
The Wheel of Time books have just as much potential to be great movies as The Lord of the Rings books did. A game could be good if done right.Posted at 1:03PM on Jan 15th 2009 by Xeones25
The Wheel of Time is an amazing series of books, but I fear they're not going to make a good movie or string of movies. There's simply no way to convey the level of detail Jordan put in his books, and it's that focus which makes them so amazing to read.
As far as games go, an MMO could be great, if done right. The world is rich and well designed, with really interesting places and people. Here's hoping.Posted at 1:59PM on Jan 15th 2009 by Silroc

There will be 13 movies, each 9 hours long, but containing approximately the same content as the film release before it.
Only one game will be made. It's unbeatable, returning to the first level upon defeating level 40. The game will be titled Wheel of Time: Deja Vu.
Can't imagine a screenwriter being able to pull off anything bearably entertaining past the first book.
No ill will toward the dead, but I never understood his popularity. He basically wrote the same book over and over.Posted at 12:13PM on Jan 15th 2009 by LiquidChicken
