Feature: 10 great PC games that need a comeback
Big Download has picked 10 such games that we think would be perfect for a publisher interested in introducing these franchises to a whole new audience. Of course, a lot will depend on which development team will handle these games but with a little bit of love, these titles are all prime candidates for a new coat of paint.

Regarding Homeworld, I doubt we'll see a new one in less then five years. I think Relic are too busy making new CoH and DoW games(please keep it up) and see that SotSE has already filled in a giant niche for space strategies...Posted at 4:23PM on Jan 13th 2009 by Sir Buzz Killington( The Artist formerly known as Jakka)
Also Fallout needs to be on the list singed as 'Real Fallout Sequel'. If Bethesda's work can be called a 'revival' then the franchise has fallen waaaaay to low to get out ever again.Posted at 4:26PM on Jan 13th 2009 by Sir Buzz Killington( The Artist formerly known as Jakka)
Shogo, but no X-Com. Freespace and Wing Commander, but no X-Wing/TIE Fighter. Detritius like Redneck Rampage and Blood, but no real unheralded gems like Urban Assault.Posted at 5:16PM on Jan 13th 2009 by obo
RollerCoaster Tycoon needs a new version... 3 was horrible and even brand new computers have trouble with the graphics. Go back to the RCT1/2 look with updated rides/angles/and (much) higher scenery piece count (225 is weak) and yeah... i'd pretty much buy every copy.Posted at 5:39PM on Jan 13th 2009 by Brent Schmidt
very pleasantly surprised to see both blood and shogo on this list.
the first blood was a true gem and a funny game. first time i saw a
cultist running around on fire screaming "IT BURNS IT BURNS!" i fell
out of a chair laughing. blood 2 was okay, but really didn't do blood
justice as a sequal. shogo was a much better display of the then new
lithtech graphics engine, and the best thing about that game was all
of the weapons both on foot and mech were good and fun to use. no
crappy weapons. the bullgut drunk missile launcher to this day is
still one of the funnest weapons to have ever been in a FPS. didn't
the ending of the original say "see you again in shogo 2" it would
be great if that finally happened
