Fans attempt to revive Tribes 2 with TribesNext
Now some enterprizing fans of Tribes 2 are attempting to relaunch the game online with TribesNext. It's basically a third party patch that allows online play via a new multiplayer server. Since all of this is basically off the books it's currently unknown if Activision Blizzard has an issue with this game. Still if you have a copy of the free download you might want to check this out.

Or we could like...get a new next-gen Tribes game instead. The last one was really overshadowed by UT and seeing how UT3 was rather disappointing, new Tribes could get a huge influx of new fans...Posted at 11:58AM on Jan 6th 2009 by Jakka ( The Order of Haters of Balance)

Or maybe it will inspire Activision Blizzard to develop a sequel to T2 with the same gameplay and dynamics. Unlike Tribes 3 Vengeance, it's missing the feel of Tribes 2 and Starsiege.

I can't see them getting upset or involved. The game is a free download now, they've abandoned it. Though, you never know. It could end up very popular and they end up wanting a piece of the action... or all of it.Posted at 6:45PM on Jan 6th 2009 by Shadowhaxor
