The Sims 3 system requirements revealed

System requirements for PC games are getting more and more important to consumers and the game that will likely be the biggest selling PC game of 2009, The Sims 3, now has had its requirements revealed. The UK Sims 2 web site has revealed the hard numbers which are below. The Electronic Arts people sim is due for release in February 2009.
PC Desktop

XP (Service Pack 2)
Processor: Pentium IV 2.0 GHz / Athlon XP 2000+
Memory: 1 GB
Graphics: GeForce FX 5900 / Radeon 9500
Graphics: Ram 128 MB
Vista (Service Pack 1)
Processor: Pentium IV 2.4 GHz / Athlon XP 2400+
Memory: 1.5 GB
Graphics: GeForce FX 5900 / Radeon 9500
Graphics Ram: 128 MB

Laptop

Since when were there different requirements for desktops and labtops?

The extra ram is most likely to compensate for video cards that don't have dedicated memory, some use shared ram.Posted at 9:02AM on Dec 18th 2008 by Phil
