Older folks prefer PC games to consoles

"Hey sonny..come on over and speak to your grampa. When we played games we didn't have any fancy WiiMote or avatars or any of that..we played Doom with a 28.8k modem with a wired mouse with a ball underneath and we LIKED IT."

Hey, don't laugh too much. According to a new survey of gamers, it's the older folks who prefer playing their games on a PC. The study, from the Pew Internet and American Life Project, claims that 73 percent of adults enjoy playing PC games while only 53 percent of them like to play console games. By contrast, 75 percent of folks aged 18-29 play games on consoles and 68 percent of them play PC games.

Overall 53 percent of American adults play some kind of video game (PC, console, mobile phones or other devices) and that a whopping 97 percent of teenagers play some kind of video game. Even a third of gamers aged 65 and over say they play some kind of video game every day.
