Movie-based games are usually just excuses for quickly made titles that turn out to be mediocre at best but still have a tendency to sell decently. However, 1Up.com is reporting that may not be the case for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The Activision published title, due for release around the same time the movie comes out in early May, is being developed by Raven Software, makers of many a great game (including two X-Men Legends action-RPG titles)
The game is featured on this month's print version of Electronic Gaming Monthly and that image you see above is supposedly an actual in-game screenshot. The magazine gives more info on the title which includes features like an in-game healing system for our favorite mutant, a big boss battle with a Sentinel robot and more.

Whoa, Activision is a great game publisher? How bout exploiter. And why isn't Raven a standup developer? I thought they did a great job with Ultimate Alliance and the X-Men Legends games. They always seem to put out great stuff, and Activision is what I think holds them back from more. Posted at 3:33PM on Dec 7th 2008 by sicsided
