Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 officially announced

It's not exactly a huge shock but it's still very cool to hear the official news. MTV Multiplayer reports that during a presentation for advertisers at Microsoft's in-game ad division Massive it was revealed that Activision will be releasing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in the fall of 2009.

While the report had no other details, it's likely that Infinity Ward is the developer for the game. They created the franchise and also were the team behind Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007 which was by far the most successful entry in the series. The title seems to suggest that the new game will be a direct sequel to the events in Call of Duty 4. The report also has reveals of other upcoming Activision games which are likely console only titles (including a James Bond themed racing game from Bizarre Creations).

i cant wait untill it comes out its gonna be awsome n great idea bungal more attachments on ur gunz also when you have over kill u should be able to have to camos and another great idea I3ackSeatSniper that would be great if u could drstroy walls.

i think that on the weapons side, you should be able to change between fire modes like on RBSV2, and that you can put like a red dot and a silencer, but id rather have the choice between the red dot scope from the story and the open dot one. and for the snipers they should make it so you can zoom in. and they gotta make it alot more graphicPosted at 3:44PM on Feb 11th 2009 by pwnduindafac3

In Modern Warfare 2...... I, and everyone I've talked to online says we really need:

Pistols:
-H&K MK23 w/without suppressor.
-Glock 17,19,22 and some compacts.
-Sig Sauer P226 w/without suppressor
-H&K 45
-H&K P30
(Any compact pistols pretty much, with attatchable suppressor)

Sub machine guns:
-HK UMP45
-Any H&K sub machine guns
(I am forgetting a ton of great sub machine guns)

Rifles:
-any Galil rifle
-SIG SAUER 552 - !!!!!!EXTREMELY NEED THIS GUN!!!!!!!
-SA80
-Steyr AUG
-H&K 416 !!!!!!

Machine guns:
-MK46
-SA86
-Any H&K machine guns

Sniper Rifles-
-M24
-Any Cheytech rifles
-Steyr SSG

( =I'm forgetting so many great guns= )

-------THE New gun that fires a bigger round than the M16 / M4, but has the same upper and lower reciever. I think it's a 6.5 mm round, instead of the 5.56 .------

Put in any guns from H&K. Pretty much any H&K weapons are ridiculously awesome.

Perks-
2 Accessories (ie. suppressor AND red dot)

For weapons-

-Make an option where each prestige, you get to pick whichever 5-6 guns you want to have golden. ( that would be insane.)

-Green/black Tiger Stripe camo.
-Red/blue tiger stripe
-Customizable camo ( you can create you're own camo somehow.

-Add any weapons that are currently used by special forces : ( USMC Force Recon / USMC Snipers - Army Rangers / Army Snipers / Navy SEALs )

Look into the Greek special forces. They use some great looking/performing guns too.

-Guille suit option, even if you have a rifle/sub machine gun class selected.

- WE REALLY NEED - Silencers on sniper rifles.

PLEAE Make MW2 controls and play exactly like COD4. WAW was very hard to get kills, and the aiming was Very stiff ( which sucked) , alot of people have gone back to COD4 like myself.

And PLEASE!!!! , LEAVE OUT the tanks in MW2, it really ruined it in WAW. (too easy to die/ get kills by tanks.)

PS- I'm making a folder to put all suggestions and comments of what everyone would like to see in the game, and I'll take the best suggestions, and send activision a big email that has some good pertinent info that should go in MW2. yay i bin waitin for ages for that to come out since they got cod5 ive been playin cod4 coz cod5 is borin in the new one they should make golden guns and silencers on the snipers and lots of gore and make it look realy realistic and good qualityPosted at 5:28PM on Feb 20th 2009 by brandon

I think a money system would be good. you earn money by playing online and you can spen it on upgrades, perks and weapons. dont make things cheap so that you can purchase everything straight away, make it so you have to save for things. also when using a sniper have ghillie camo as an options for your sniper instead of just painted camo as being covered in it yourself but having the gun uncovered never help in CoD4Posted at 10:19AM on Feb 23rd 2009 by Matt

I think what the new game needs is better customization of online game play setup. Being able to invite players into the game and being able to join into a game of a budy without being invited, and not just on team games, free for all as well (i play it on ps3). Also they need to make more maps at all diffrent size's. Lately been doing alot of lan games because i'm deployed and cant play online and when we only have a few people to play with there are only 2 or 3 maps that are small enuf to play on where the game doesnt last an hour with no time limmit, or time runs out with only a few kills. On that not also being able to set up classes in lan games instead of using the preset classes (this should apply to split screen as well).Posted at 1:15AM on Feb 24th 2009 by Nupraptor
