LucasArts' history to be revealed in upcoming book

LucasArts is one of the oldest game publishers in the industry and next month it's getting its own official history book. Chronicle Books has announced that it will publish Rogue Leaders: The Story of LucasArts, a "coffee-table" sized book that will go over the company's history since George Lucas formed it back in 1982.

The book itself is written by well-known game journalist Rob Smith (currently the editor-in-chief of the Official Playstation Magazine) and will feature a forward by Lucas himself. The book will feature new interviews with LucasArts members past and present and over 300 pieces of artwork from LucasArts' many games (including some that were never released). Smith will be signing the $60 title at Chronicles Books' retail location in San Fransisco on Dec. 4. Other members of the LucasArts team will be present and people will be able to play classic LucasArts game titles at the event.
