Australia's lack of an adult rating for games has claimed yet another highly anticipated title. Gamasutra reports that the Australian Classification Board and Classification Review Board has denied a rating for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, the upcoming sequel to the 2005 horror shooter from developer Monolith and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive.
There's no word yet on why the board has refused to classify the game which keeps F.E.A.R. 2 from being sold in the country. Australia currently has no rating higher than MA15+ for games even though an MA18+ rating does exists for films. A number of games have been banned from the country as a result although some have been released after the developers have done some editing. So far there's no word if F.E.A.R. 2 will be edited to receive the MA15+ rating.

i think they should make MA18+ MA15+ and R18+ if they make any changes but then u have T13+ so changing that might be more complicated than nesesaryPosted at 3:03PM on Jan 6th 2009 by Zach

Awww. That's dodgy as. Why ban that game? Saw an article saying violence was to blame but games are around now that you can cut ppls up with a sword.. Or shoot em in the head and watch cranium go everywhere. So why ban this game? 'Tis annoying..Posted at 5:53PM on Jan 13th 2009 by Chris

That higher rating should be written as R18+, not MA18+Posted at 1:21PM on Nov 26th 2008 by paralipsis
