While AMD's ATI unit is quick to release hotfixes for its graphics drivers for specific games like Far Cry 2, they usually reserve major new updates to their Catalyst drivers for the middle of the month. Today is no exception as the company has released their 8.11 version of their drivers for their Radeon graphics cards.You can check out the release notes for the latest version which reveals a number of bug fixes and improvements. In particular these new 8.11 drivers supposedly improve performance for Far Cry 2 by 3 to 10 percent for single card mode and 8 to 14 percent in Crossfire mode. Also playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky with the new drivers yielded performance gains of 6 to 18 percent in single card settings and 10 to 30 percent in CrossfireX mode.
