Digital Illusions and Electronic Arts' upcoming free-to-play shooter Battlefield Heroes is a bit of an experiment, at least for a major game publisher. So it's not exactly a shock to find out that perhaps there are some things that still need to be worked on before it can be officially launched.
In a message on the game's official web site, Battlefield Heroes senior producer James Salt states, "On Friday evening (6pm CET) we will be closing down the current Closed Beta and moving our focus to polishing the backend. So for a while there will be no closed beta available to play. We expect to re-open the beta early next year." He used an iceberg analogy when describing what the "backend" of the game was like. Let's hope there's no major collisions that will cause stuff to sink.
