Gas Powered Games continues to stay busy. The game developer released Space Siege back in August and will release Demigod with publisher Stardock in February. Today the developer's next project was announced and it's sure to excite fans. It's the sequel to Gas Powered's 2007 released sci-fi RTS game Supreme Commander.
However in a major shock Supreme Commander 2 won't be published by the game's original publisher THQ. Instead it will be the first game from a Western developer to be published by (drum roll)... Square Enix. Yes, the company in charge of the Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and other highly Japanese titles is publishing a Western RTS game. According to today's press release this new arrangement between the two companies " ....serves as a new cornerstone of its strategy to create games targeted primarily at consumers in Europe and North America." No other details of Supreme Commander 2, including a release date, were announced.
