I don't think that the value of console exclusivity should be underestimated. It's what sells consoles, and that's the bottom line for everyone. Plus, it's better to have a game that's tailor made for the hardware and controls instead of having to put up with crappy ports. That being said, I don't think the PC should be included as a comparison. A PC exclusive doesn't necessarily boost PC sales, nor does it really cut into console sales. Developers don't have to pay royalty fees to anyone when they release a PC game, and the PC is an open system for modding, multiplayer, etc. Lastly, although gaming would be high on the priority list of many people, people tend to buy PC's to do a lot more than games.Posted at 11:46AM on Nov 14th 2008 by Steven Wong
