Japanese Fallout 3 players won't deal with "the bomb"

Fallout 3 has generated its fair share of controversy both before and after its release. The Bethesda Softworks RPG has had to edit references to real world drugs before its release. A Washington Post letter writer complained publicly about the subway ads in the DC area depicting a ruined US Capital. Finally trailers promoting the game were pulled from web sites (including Big Download) because of a unnamed violation of ESRB ad rules.

Now comes word that the Japanese version of Fallout 3, due for release on Dec. 4, will eliminate an early quest in the game. According to the Japanese Bethesda Softworks web site (here's the Google translation) the game will get rid of a critical choice in regards to an undetonated nuclear device in the game (we won't spoil that choice for those of you who haven't played it yet). Other things such as Ghouls and Gore Bags have been changed eliminated for the Japanese game release.
