Oddly named strategy game gets new title

Earlier this year Southpeak Games released Imperium Romanum, a historical strategy game series from developer Haemimont Games. Needless to say, the title of the original game is a mouthful so for the upcoming sequel, due for release in February 2009, it was decided to go in a much more simple direction.

European publisher Kalypso Media announced today that Imperium Romanum II now has a new title. It will now be called Grand Ages: Rome. Kalypso Media changed the name in order to launch a new and "....distinctive brand for all our strategy games which will be universally recognised and unique in the world wide game markets." Perhaps the publisher is taking some lessons from The Creative Assembly which has been using the Total War brand for all of its historical RTS PC games.
