Atari officially picks up Ghostbusters game [Update]
Dan Aykroyd spilled the beans on this deal a month ago but Atari has finally made it official They will indeed be the new publisher for the long awaited Ghostbusters games. The title, which is basically Ghostbusters III, will be released sometime in 2009.
Ghostbusters was originally to be published by Vivendi Games but was dropped after the Activision Blizzard merger because it and other games did not have the "potential to be exploited every year across every platform, with clear sequel potential", according to its CEO Bobby Kotick. Atari now takes over the handling of the Terminal Reality developed game which will be scripted by the movie's original creator Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. Those two, along with Bill Murry, Ernie Hudson and others from the film series, have already recorded their voices for their characters.
Update: Some new screenshots of the game have now been issued by Atari.

Good for Atari. This game should be good fun. Looks like Phil Harrison is really helping them make some smart moves.
