I look forward to hearing the adventure game discussion. Is there a set time frame we should expect the BigCast in anymore? I really enjoyed getting it mid-day Mondays.

Another good podcast guys.

I can't say I agree on all the adventure game points. For me, an adventure game has no combat and if it does, it is not an adventure game anymore. It can be an action adventure or adventure rpg (as I consider the Penny arcade games) but it is no longer a proper adventure IMO. For me, mixing in other genres removes what I enjoy most about adventures, a relaxed atmosphere. Not that I don't enjoy those other genres because I certainly do, and I do think that other genres are made better by incorporating adventure elements, but I nearly always prefer my adventure games in the classic point and click form. Also, be aware that they are dozens of developers and publishers out there supporting the genre, not just TellTale and Hothead. A Vampyre Story, Still Life 2, Whispered Word, Grey Matter, So Blond, Once Upon a Time in Japan, Theseis, Book of Unwritten Tales, A New Beginning, and Alter Ego are just a few of the great looking adventures on the horizon. Finally, to the panelist that mentioned the Longest Journey as the game he wants to play but hasn't... play it already! TLJ is easily my single favorite game of all time. That game is magical.

Fantasy vs Sci-fi: Fantasy for me. Sci-fi environments like space ships and space stations are almost universally bland and uninteresting to explore. I'm enjoying Dead Space but god damn that ship is so friggin' stale and generic that is just no fun to explore.

Genre to put hold on: MMOs MMO players already have their worlds that they are invested in and are very adverse to leaving. That and I don't want to invest my time and energy in a single game the way most MMOs require. I want to play as many different games as possible.

Story vs Multiplayer: Story +100 here. I'm not a competitive person so deathmatch type MP does nothing for me. Co-op can be fun but meeting up with my friends online is such a pain. We're lucky if we get in 1 night every other week.
