It looks like Best Buy won't have the lock on special midnight launch events for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. We just received word that the Gamestop store located on Powell Street in San Francisco will also hold their own launch event prior to the release of the long awaited fantasy MMO expansion from Blizzard.

In fact the press release states that all of Powell Street between O'Farrell and Ellis Streets will be shut down the night of Nov. 12 for the event. Activities like a costume contest, a dance contest, bidding for special swag items at the ""Azeroth Auction House" and more will be held at the Gamestop location. Reps from Blizzard are also planning to attend. Of course Wrath of the Lich King will be sold to the awaiting World of Warcraft players at midnight.
