Developer and publisher Stardock has finally pulled the curtains off it's next major internal game project and as expected it is their long-in-development turn based fantasy game. Edge Online has the details on the game which is titled Elemental: War of Magic.

Stardock CEO Brad Wardell states in the article, "Imagine Civilization with magic in a fantasy world, almost, in terms of gameplay," Players capture shards of magical power in the game which gives them access to use more magic which they can either keep or give some of it to "minions" to spread the power around. The game will also feature both standard multiplayer as well as a persistant universe style of play. It will also have features like random maps, mod support and city building. Elemental: War of Magic is still a ways off; the game will enter beta somtime in spring 2009 for a February 2010 release.

Update: The game's official web site has gone live with more info, screenshots and a way to pre-order the game to guarenttee a spot in the beta test.
