Valve would put a horror game up on sale on Steam for its regular weekend cut backs in prices and we were not disappointed. For this weekend only (including this Halloween day) the price of the first person action RPG Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines has been cut 50 percent to just $9.99.
The title was the third and final game from the now defunct Troika Games (formed by former members of the original Fallout team) and was the first third party title to use Valve's Source engine (the game actually shipped the day after Half-Life 2 in 2004). While the game got terrific reviews the game's publisher Activision did little to no marketing and press for Bloodlines and its poor sales caused Troika to shut down. Fans of the game, however, have released a ton of unofficial patches to the game ever since.
