Thanks to the Activision-Blizzard merger a few months ago several games from the now defunct Vivendi Games found themselves without a home and one of them was the highly anticipated Ghostbusters. Now one of the creators of the franchise, Dan Aykroyd (the guy on the right) may have revealed the game's new publisher.
Kotaku reports that Aykroyd, speaking to a Dallas radio station, stated that the game had now been picked up by Atari and is now slated for a release sometime in 2009. Aykroyd co-wrote the script to the game which reunites nearly everyone involved in the massive comedy movie series. So it looks like we may be putting on our proton packs in the coming months.

Good question. I'm sure someone will pick it up but when I stop to think over the options, I can't even guess who.

So I'm assuming they either mean released sometime in 2009, or this game has been out for 8 years already :-pPosted at 9:57AM on Oct 15th 2008 by xenonick

Yes. Summer of 2009. To coincide with the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters.Posted at 3:19PM on Oct 15th 2008 by gbfan_2009_06_14

I'm really anxious to hear the fate of World in Conflict: Soviet Assault in the wake of Sierra being dissolved. We all knew Ghostbusters would be fine, but who has WiC? :(Posted at 8:16AM on Oct 15th 2008 by Sokkratez
