Cyberathlete Professional League coming back?
Now the CPL's web site is showing a logo with a "Coming Soon" announcement. Clicking on that tag line reveals a press release announcing that the company has been bought by an unnamed company based in the United Arab Emirates. The press release claims that they will relaunch the brand with new gaming tournaments that will be held worldwide. A more recent news post over at The Adrenaline Vault (owned by previous CPL owners NewWorld.com) states that the new CPL plans to hold two major tournaments in 2009, one of which will be in the US and is currently hiring a new team to run the events.

Oh boy! People watch other people play sports but somehow that is accepted, but gaming oh god no!
Get a real, most of the CPL caliber teams have skills/strategies most gamers could never comprehend. Posted at 3:55PM on Oct 5th 2008 by born2expire
^ Even though that may be true that doesn't make it any more fun to watch. I would rather do something myself and be just ok than to sit and watch someone else do good. I can stomach hour long tournaments once a month or so but I given the choice I'd rather just boot up the same game and play myself.
