2015 revives itself

Remember 2015? This was the Oklahoma-based game studio that gained much fame in PC gaming circles in 2002 when it was the primary team behind Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, the WWII shooter that jump-started the whole genre. While many of 2015's team left the company to form Infinity Ward (creators of the even more successful Call of Duty series) 2015 remained to develop the 2004 Vietnam War shooter Men of Valor. However, that title got average reviews and sales and 2015 has basically been in a holding pattern since.

Today our sister site GameDaily reports that 2015 has come out of its coma and received several million dollars in funding to revive their operations (specific numbers and identities of the investors were not disclosed). They will use their money to launch a new division called Tornado Studios that will create games in the mass market/casual genre with their first title due out by Christmas 2009. 2015's label will still be used for the company's more hardcore first person shooter titles but so far there's no word on when they will release a new product.
