Mirror's Edge PC release date officially no longer with consoles

Earlier this week, we reported on how web retailers like Gamestop and Amazon.com had changed their release dates for the upcoming first person action game Mirror's Edge to Jan. 6, 2009, away from the fall release date of the console version. At the time a spokesperson for the game's publisher, Electronic Arts, would only confirm that the release date would be sometime in the "winter" time frame.

Now EA has issued an official press release that indeed confirms that the PC version of the Digital Illusions developed title won't be released alongside the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. Those ports are now due out on Nov. 11 which makes those versions fall squarely in the "fall" time frame. EA would not admit to a specific release date for the PC version, saying only it is coming sometime this winter. We are betting this indeed means we won't be seeing Mirror's Edge in our hard drives until after 2008 is over.
