Earlier this week, Microsoft announced plans to launch an all new line up of PC mice using BlueTrack, a new optical technology that will allow these mice to work on a larger variety of surfaces. Today Microsoft announced plans to release a gaming PC mouse using the BlueTrack tech; the Sidewinder X8.
The wireless mouse will have a range of between 250 and 4,000 dpi and will be able to be used up to 30 hours on one charge. A small LED will let gamers know what dpi setting the mouse currently has and will feature instant switching between pre-set small, medium and high settings. There are seven buttons on the Sidewinder X8, five of which can be programmed. We have a while before this puppy is available. The Sidewinder X8 will ship in February 2009 for the price of $99.95.
