DRM haters slam Spore in Amazon reviews

The early reviews of Will Wright's and Electronic Arts' alien evolution sim Spore have been mixed but at least those reviews have been about the title's actual gameplay. Now that the game has finally shipped to stores, customers are bringing in their own views and for at least one web based retailer it looks like an organized campaign to get rid of just one feature.

Amazon.com reader reviews of the game have been slammed by folks who have not been shy in expressing their opinions on Spore's current DRM copyright protection. Just like last May's Mass Effect, Spore allows only three installs on a person's PC which if a customer changes a hard drive or video card could disappear quickly. It appears that many, if not most, of these reviews haven't even played the game itself and are simply complaining on the DRM issue. That still is enough to bring Amazon.com's reader score down to a 1.5.
