Shipping screw up causes slight S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky US delay
There's no word on a new release date for the game although online retailers now have a September 15 date. This new development will likely push back any digital download release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky in the US. The European release date remains unchanged; it will ship on September 5.

Well, gaw-lee. Sure didn't see yet another delay coming. How hard is it for them to get their shit together just, y'know, once? I guess they can't release it early via Steam cuz the retail outlets would be miffed, but I know I could turn a blind eye to that if they chose to go that route.

^ I gotta' agree. Hell if the game is gold then just release it on Steam NOW. Sorry Deep Silver, best of luck getting a foot hold in this country but my choice on Steam vs Boxed was made up the second the story mention 'CD Key'. Yes, piracy is a vile and sinful thing and practitioners should be strung up by their left pinky toes on street corners across the country and flogged by gleeful children with cat-o-9-tails until they break open like pinatas; that is common sense. But don't punish the legitimate users like me or I'll look to Steam and Impulse get my games from.
Thinking of Impulse... I could be playing Sins of a Solar Empire right now. Later suckas.

Actually, come to think of it, Steam services Europe as well. So by releasing it 10 days earlier in Europe, they're pretty much sticking it to Steam.
And exactly how is the UK version going to be ANY different than the North American version? I'll be cancelling my pre-order at EBGames and buying it via Steam if they get it before the stores do (I wanted the printed manual, posters, etc. included with the hard copy, but I really mostly just want the f'ing game already). Also, srsly? What kind of shipping error does it take over 2 full weeks to rectify? What, did they route the container ship carrying the N.America-bound copies to Antarctica by mistake?!
I don't pirate games, but I've seen enough people pirate the russian version that came out last week and it sure makes piracy look tempting (and much less expensive). Fortunately I have a soft spot for that lot at GSC that put together such an awesome game the first time around. Deep Silver on the other hand, they can choke on a bag of dicks for all I care. This is obviously Deep Silver (the publishers) fault, there is really no logical reason this should delay the Steam release. If Deep Silver whines that they'll lose sales over it, so be it, it was their screw up not Valve's.
