The folks at Valve continue to give Steam customers (at least those in North America) some cool package deals on games on their service. The latest is for the upcoming SimBin developed racing simulation GTR Evolution. This latest game is actually an extension of the previously released RACE 07 and contains nearly 50 cars, 19 different tracks and both a simulation and arcade racing mode.
GTR Evolution actually contains the full RACE 07 game and Steam is offering people who pre-order GTR Evolution 10 percent off its regular $39.99 price before it launches on September 1. If you already own RACE 07 you can download GTR Evolution from Steam; it is also priced at 10 percent off its regular price of $19.99.

Thanks Sokk.
I've been eying up the SimBin games for a while but have been pretty confused on what is a full game, what is an update, and what is an expansion so I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I wish they would just release nice well defined single game experiences.

I recommend nobody buy this until there is some resolution. The same exact package (GTR Evolution + Race 07) is available at retail for an MSRP of $19.99. Word is, these boxed versions can be added to your Steam account and can then be downloaded and updated through there. I have no idea why this package is double the price of the boxed version (once the 'discount' period is over), but there is a thread running on the Steam forums right now.
Just check places like Amazon, GameStop or Target for the GTR Evolution + Race 07 $19.99 box.Posted at 8:17AM on Aug 28th 2008 by Sokkratez
