New Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir screenshots
Recently Atari sent out some new screenshots from the expansion which once again will be developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The expansion is set to feature items like a non-linear enviroment to explore, party creation, an economic system that you can influence while playing and more. The expansion is due for release this fall.

I have not heard of Atari / Infograms ditching SecuROM. I do agree that it is a major pain in the ass though I didn't have quite the out and out negative experience you did from the sound of it. I would just have to re-insert my DVD 2-3 times before the software recognized it as legit. Apparently it is a bit of a known issue with Plextor drives. In any event, as legit users we should not have to put up with such crap. I have money, I buy my games outright and usually pay full price at launch too so I don't feel bad about grabbing no-disc hacks for any game that implements DRM bullshit like SecuROM.
As for the game itself, I CANNOT F*CKING WAIT! I was never a fan of the original NWN but my buddies got me to pick up NWN2 for some co-op and I was ENTHRALLED. I played through it in co-op with them and and once by myself single player. Same goes for MotB expansion. Fantastic stuff. Storm of Zehir looks like everything I've been enjoying about the franchise only kicked up an extra notch or two. I think Obsidian has been doing a great job with the NWN IP and I can't wait for more. I have to kind of grit my teeth when people laugh at Atari and say that they have only been publishing crap games because NWN2 is one of the best games I've played in years.

But the big question on my mind is, "Will this expansion kill SecuROM?"
Since my last computer was wrecked twice from copy protection on NWN2 and with another game, it's a legitimate concern I have.
...or was it already killed?Posted at 9:52PM on Aug 17th 2008 by Dave A.
