We are in the summer doldrums when it comes to new PC games being released but that will soon change as we enter the fall/holiday shopping season. In the meantime, the latest list of the top 10 best selling PC games in the US (courtesy, as always from the NPD Group) for the week ending August 2 shows no new games on the list. There have been some shifts in positions in the game's listings but for the most part it's a pretty boring list this week, full of Sims and Blizzard products. So for your info here is what is selling the most on retail shelves this week:
- The Sims 2 Double Deluxe - Electronic Arts
- Nancy Drew: The Phantom Of Venice - Her Interactive
- World of Warcraft Battle Chest - Blizzard
- Spore Creature Creator - Electronic Arts
- World of Warcraft - Blizzard
- The Sims 2 IKEA Home Stuff - Electronic Arts
- Diablo Battle Chest - Blizzard
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Activision
- World of Warcraft The Burning Crusade - Blizzard
- The Sims 2 FreeTime - Electronic Arts $30

Business as usual. I would really like to see what this list would look like if the NPD were able to gather the actual statics from all the online stores out there plus digital distribution figures. I think an accurate list would shut up all the PC games are dead naysayers right away.
