Following in the footsteps of Neil McAndrew and actress Angelina Jolie is 23-year-old former gymnast Alison Carroll, who is the latest to portray gaming icon Lara Croft, heroine of publisher Eidos Interactive's Tomb Raider games.Like McAndrew and Jolie, Carroll will represent Lara Croft in promotional material used for upcoming Tomb Raider promotions, such as the upcoming Tomb Raider: Underworld, due out this November for PC, DS, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360. Having taken a crash course in archaeology, Carroll will be speaking in-character when she represents the busty explorer.
Carroll's background in gymnastics makes her an able portrayer of the equally athletic Lara Croft. Having represented Great Britain as a professional display gymnast, the athlete-turned-video-game-character choreographed the routine for the junior team that won the British National Championships.
"I've always wanted to be an action hero," said Carroll.
