Far Cry 2 PC system requirements revealed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
CPU: Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz, Pentium D 2.66 Ghz, AMD Athlon 64 3500+ or better
RAM: 1 GB
Video card: NVidia 6800 or ATI X1650 or better
Shader Model 3 required
256 Mb of graphic memory
Media reader: DVD-ROM
Hard drive space: ~12 Gig of HD space. (TBD)
RECOMMENDED:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Family, AMD 64 X2 5200+, AMD Phenom or better
RAM: 2 GB
Video card: NVidia 8600 GTS or better, ATI X1900 or better
512 Mb of graphic memory
Sound: 5.1 sound card recommended
SUPPORTED VIDEO CARDS:
NVidia 6800, NVidia 7000 series, 8000 series, 9000 series, 200 series. 8800M and 8700M supported for laptops.
ATI X1650 – 1950 series, HD2000 series, HD3000 series, HD4000 series.
It looks like the minimal requirements will be higher than the 2007 title Crysis which "only" needed a 2.8 Ghx Pentium 4 or an AMD Athlon 2800+ for its processor and either an GeForce 6800 GT or an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro for its minimal rig.

I think they're very similar to the requirements for Assassin's Creed, and that game sold very well. Besides, the first Far Cry game was known for having high system requirements, but they were overcome fairly quickly. I'm really looking forward to this game. ^ Good point. There is precedent with the series and other Ubi games for demanding requirements. I also forgot to add that FC2 look sick! I'm a big fan of open ended, open world shooters so FC2 has me way stoked.

Come on dude E8400 3.0ghz and 260, just remember your pc will be old in 6 months and then my pc will be better than yours and so will many others.

Wow, those are actually kind of hefty. Looks like one of the first games where a dual core is pretty much a requirement. It doesn't bother me any but I just hope this doesn't impede sales much like similar specs did with Crysis.
