Even though CD Projekt's fantasy RPG The Witcher got a ton of critical acclaim when it was released back in 2007, the developers felt that the game was incomplete in many areas. That's why the game is being re-released as The Witcher: Enhanced Edition this September. This week new screenshots were released showing off some of the enhancements in the new version.
The new version will include features like over 5,000 lines of re-recorded dialogue, an enhanced inventory system, two new single player adventures and the game's mod tools and editors. If you already own the first version of The Witcher (the game did sell over 800,000 copies worldwide) don't fret; you will get a free patch with all of the changes and additions that will be put into the Enhanced Edition.

Ahh can't wait. They are going to make a great game even better.Posted at 8:25PM on Aug 9th 2008 by Nerdman

I have very grateful that this will be both a retail product and a free upgrade to those of use that bought the original. It is very frustrating to have to re-buy games for bonus content or features, something the DVD market seems to relish in.
