With the release of Space Siege just around the corner Chris Taylor, Founder and CEO of Gas Powered Games, gives us an in-depth look at his approach in conceptualizing and designing the game. Although there's a great deal of emphasis on explosions and being a tough guy, it's interesting to note that there will be no straightforward difficulty settings in the game. Quite simply, if the game will be easier if players install cybernetic parts and harder if they don't. Taylor also states that he doesn't regard the game as an RPG... not exactly, anyway. He sees it more like a first-person shooter that looks like an action RPG. Check out the video and judge for yourself.

After playing the demo I agree, it failed pretty badly as a RPG. That said, it didn't feel especially compelling as an action game either. This is a title that I REALLY want to like but I'm not optimistic from what I've played. Sorry Taylor and Gas Powered crew; though I did get a little Crusader No Remorse/No Regret vibe off it, unless the reviews come back ridiculously positive I'll probably going to skip this one until I can find it on the cheap.
