Games For Windows Live subscriptions to get refunded
If you are one of the very few PC gamers who paid money to access the Gold services in Microsoft's Games for Windows Live platform, there's some good news beyond the fact that those Gold features are now free. According to Ars Technica Microsoft plans to give out refunds to those of you who did pay for those features before this week.
The previous "Gold" fee was $50 a year to access those services like matchmaking, voice chat and cross-platform multiplayer with a few Xbox 360 games. People who already had a paid subscription to Xbox Live for the Xbox 360 console could also access the "Gold" features of Games for Windows Live for no additional costs. Microsoft has never said how many people actually did pay for those services but it's likely not to be a huge amount.
