Gamecock joins Gametap's publisher line-up
The Gametap game download service is the latest to add the growing list of outlets for the rebel game publisher Gamecock. Gametap announced today that it will offer both Insecticide Episode 1 and Stronghold Crusader Extreme to its online store front and will offer future titles like Legendary and Velvet Assassin as well.
Of course this is not the first online publisher for the Austin, Texas based Gamecock. It has previously signed similar deals to offer its PC games via download from Valve's Steam client as well as Gamersgate.Other upcoming PC games from the publisher for 2009 include Dungeon Hero and Section 8.

I don't think this article was very well written. Gametap is a big player in digital distribution scene. They aren't just adding the games to the storefront, they are adding them to subscription and free play in the future. It is not a "similar deal" to Steam or Gamergate when the services are actually very different. Next time have someone write the article that has actually used Gametap and post their official news post that they passed out to the media. I don't mean to be rude but if this blog is going to be a real player in the PC space you really need to know the major players.....Posted at 3:38AM on Jul 25th 2008 by Jason West
