More info on Dragon Age: Origins; confirmed as PC exclusive
In fact Dragon Age is described in the press release as a "spritual successor" to one of Bioware's first major PC titles Baldur's Gate and promises to get "dark and gritty" with the game's themes. The game will feature large scale battles including being able to "use their party's special abilities to destroy hordes of enemies and massive creatures." The game's magic system will use "spell combos" to create new combat abilities and promises deep customization of their character, including how their "origin" affects them throughout the game. We hope to see Dragon Age: Origins in action during E3 next week.

Sorry to post twice in a row but I just watched the E3 trailer and the first thing that pops into my mind is the term 'generic'. I really hope they are able to prove themselves creative and unique. Orcs and Elves are only so interesting.Posted at 11:28AM on Jul 14th 2008 by Veko
Hell yes. One of my most anticipated games of 2000whenever.
Veko: While I agree that the cinematic trailer (as in, no gamplay) looked a little blah, I think Bioware has already proven themselves as creative and able to make "unique" games. Or did Mass Effect, Jade Empire, KOTR and Neverwinter Nights not do enough to instill confidence in them? Posted at 12:00PM on Jul 14th 2008 by Mike
I'm definitely looking forward to this game. The only thing that scares me is EA. If they cripple this game with SecuROM or other ridiculous DRM, I will not be buying it.Posted at 12:13PM on Jul 14th 2008 by HappyFunBall
I agree on their past proof, Mike, I'm just being bitter on how Lord of the Ring-like the trailer is. Truthfully I am excited for this game, I just with they'd show gameplay.
Also, yay on other commenters being around.Posted at 4:04PM on Jul 14th 2008 by Veko
Mike: I have to say that the real reason I'm excited for this is the old Baldur's Gate series, though Neverwinter Nights was pretty decent too.Posted at 10:34PM on Jul 14th 2008 by Mike
Didn't X3F (?) just announce that this *wouldn't* be a PC-exclusive? I think they said it would just come to consoles a bit later than PC...Posted at 7:12AM on Jul 15th 2008 by James
Mike: Couldn't agree more with you on Baldur's Gate. One of my all time favorite series.Posted at 12:20PM on Jul 16th 2008 by Mike

I've recently been listening to old GFW Radio episodes again and, in a 2006 episode, they talked about Dragon Age. Ah, how I wish companies would stop announcing things so far in advance. I.E. DNF.Posted at 11:20AM on Jul 14th 2008 by Veko
