Big Download's most anticipated PC games of E3 2008: 15-11

On Tuesday, in our last thrilling episode of Big Download's most anticipated PC games for E3 2008, we listed our picks for 20-16 on our list after revealing our picks for 25-21 on Monday. Which naturally means that today we will have our picks for the 15-11 games we have on our list that we are most interested to see at E3 next week in Los Angeles. Which games will they be? Will they actually be at the show? Will we stop making silly references to Saturday afternoon movie series of the 1930's? Stay tuned to find out the answers to these exciting questions and more.

As we mentioned previously, these are just our predictions on what games will be shown at the event; many of these titles have not been officially confirmed to be at E3 as of this writing. Also, there's no Activision or Vivendi Games/Blizzard titles on this list due to the two publishers bypassing E3 but a press conference by Activision on Tuesday during E3 is highly expected to show some upcoming titles from that publisher (and maybe Vivendi/Blizzard as well). With that out of the way let's look at our picks for the next five games on our list.

15: Space Siege (PC Exclusive)

Developer: Gas Powered Games Publisher: Sega

By the time E3 arrives next week, Space Siege should almost be ready to ship. The sci-fi based action-RPG is scheduled to be released in late August and we are hoping Gas Powered and Sega will give us some extensive hands-on time with a late build at the show. After making the multi-character themed Dungeon Siege titles, Space Siege centers on just one playable character who is exploring an abandoned and vast space ship. Naturally the ship isn't quite abandoned as your character has to fight off various alien threats. He also can augment his human abilities with bionic implants that could threaten to turn him into something that's isn't human anymore. We thinks Space Siege is certainly a huge PC exclusive title and hope it lives up to its promise.

14: Project Origin

Developer: Monolith Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive

In 2005, Monolith completed work on F.E.A.R., one of the best looking and best playing (at least in single player) PC first person shooters ever made. This was due to some creepy horror themed combined with modern day shooter aspects and some truly advanced AI enemies. The game was released to great acclaim by Vivendi Games but the sequel, Project Origin, is being published by Monolith's current owners Warner Bros. Interactive. Not much is know about the sequel's storyline except that it will continue to deal with that weird and scary child Alma At E3 2008 we expect improved graphics, more advanced AI and just more of what made F.E.A.R so great. Hopefully Project Origin will have some improvements in multiplayer as well. While the game won't debut exclusively on the PC this time, we think Monolith will put some extra care into their PC port so we don' t think this will disappoint us.

13: Empire: Total War (PC Exclusive)

Developer: The Creative Assembly Publisher: Sega

The Total War series of historical RTS titles have always been among the best games of the genre that has ever been released. Developer The Creative Assembly have created games based on feudal Japan, ancient Rome and the Middle Ages. For their latest PC exclusive game, Empire: Total War, they get closer to our time period. It's the 18th century and the US is fighting for its independence from Great Britain while the Industrial Revolution is about to begin. This turbulent time in history is sure to be handled well by the Total War dev team. In addition to land battles, the biggest new feature in Empire: Total War is the addition of full 3D naval battles. Yes, you can fire cannons at close range, swing to the enemy's ship and attempt a hostile takeover (back when that term actually had some teeth into it). We have yet to see the game in full action and hope that Sega will bring the game to E3 2008 next week to show us what it can do.

12: Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Colonization (PC Exclusive)

Developer: Firaxis Publisher: 2K Games

Firaxis and legendary game developer Sid Meier are among the most dependable teams making PC games. While they just released their first console only game in Civilization: Revolution, the team hasn't forgotten its PC game roots. This fall they will release Civilization IV: Colonization, a remake of sorts of the 1990's title Sid Meier's Colonization. As with the original game your goal is to colonize the so-called "New World" in the 15th and 16th centuries. While some have questioned some of the morality of the game's themes, most are taking the game as it is; a game. Players will have to deal with diplomacy from the natives, being able to settle colonists, fighting off outside threats and more. While we recently got a chance to check out a build of the game, we hope to see even more of Civilization IV: Colonization at 2K Games's E3 meeting room next week.

11.Alpha Protocol

Developer: Obsidian Entertainment Publisher:Sega

While Sony Online's The Agency is more of a old fashioned Hollywood spy movie, the highly anticipated Alpha Protocol is more like the Jason Bourne movie trilogy. It's supposed to be more realistic, grittier and with more emphasis on character. Developer Obsidian Entertainment is an RPG developer with titles like Neverwinter Nights 2 under its belt. However, Alpha Protocol promised to have lots of action mixed into its RPG elements as it follows a rookie agent who is cast out from his government and must go it alone to fight off a vast conspiracy. Obsidian is making the game for other platforms besides the PC but the developer's PC game experience should give Alpha Protocol a better PC port than most and hopefully we will get to see it for ourselves at E3 next week.

On Thursday: we give our picks for 10-6 on our list, including two of the year's biggest RTS game releases and what could be the biggest selling PC game of the year.
