- Yes, the new game is in full 3D using Blizzard's own in-house graphics engine.
- The game's storyline takes place 20 years after the events of Diablo II where a comet impactsthe place where Diablo once entered the game's fantasy world. Obviously, stuff happens.
- The game will have five character classes. Some of the old character classes in the first two games like the Barbarian will return but there's all new classes such as the Witch Doctor.
- Diablo III's world will be more interactive with traps, destructible environments and Havok supported game physics.
- In addition to single player, there will be a full multiplayer experience via Blizzard's Battle.net system including co-op.
- As usual, Blizzard has not yet revealed a release date but it will be released for both Windows and Macintosh PCs at the same time (no console versions have been announced).
- One minor note; the game's lead designer is Jay Wilson who came to Blizzard from Relic Entertainment where he was the lead designer for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.
